Aether Studios revealed today that they are completing a To change Aether Dungeons version. The game, a turn-based dungeon crawler, will be released on April 6, 2023.

Dungeons of Aether is connected to Rivals of Aether, but has a different style of play. It already appeared on Steam in February.

Dungeons of Aether is a turn-based dungeon crawler designed by Nick “ampersandbear” Blackwood of the Aether Studios team. Rivals of Aether is known for its intense competition and daring abilities, while Dungeons of Aether lets you advance at your own pace, but remains just as challenging! Every choice you make can plunge you deep into dungeons or an untimely death. Will you carry a treasure chest, or will you be carried away in a pine box?

Combat in Dungeons of Aether uses a dice selection system that ensures each battle is unique while challenging the player to adapt the dice pool each round. Use fortune in your favor to defeat your enemies, collect treasures and turn the odds in your favor.

four new heroes

Dungeons of Aether introduces four exciting new heroes to the world of Aether, each with their own unique abilities and memorable personalities.

  • Fleet is the self-proclaimed protector of her hometown of Julesvale, though she is seen more as a clumsy menace than a heroine. As a jack-of-all-trades, Fleet is a great character to learn the combat system.
  • Hamir is a former Wall Runner from the mighty Rock Wall. He came to Julesvale in exile after losing his trusted partner. Hamir now finds himself searching for purpose and the courage to continue. Hamir is strong and resilient, taking hits until the time is right to crush his foes.
  • Slade is a pirate from the remote Polekai Islands. He headed to Julesvale in search of a mysterious rare mineral exclusive to Julesvale. The mineral is said to be the key to saving their homeland. Slade’s flair and swagger allow him to dodge attacks entirely if his speed is high enough.
  • Artemis is a renowned general of the Mora Fire who often fought alongside Zetterburn. Emperor Loxodont sent him to Julesvale on a secret mission. Artemis can heal his wounds in battle, displaying his innate regenerative abilities.

Historical mode

The world of Aether expands, and Dungeons of Aether adds a fascinating new side to the ever-expanding story! Travel to the steampunk town of Julesvale and brave the sprawling caverns below. In Story mode, you will play a roguelite adventure in which you will have to start each dive from the city. There, you can interact with the townspeople and spend your hard-earned gold preparing for your next run.

Each of the dungeons you dive into presents new challenges to complete and rewards to collect. As you dive into the mines, lava caves, underground oases, and mineral deposits of Julesvale, you can collect journal entries that will reveal even more about Julesvale and its legendary past.

challenge dungeons

For those of you looking for true roguelike difficulty, Challenge Dungeons is where you’ll want to test your skills. Each challenge dungeon is randomly generated with unique rules and starting gear. Your mission is to go through all the biomes in the game in one go.

Story Mode gives you the chance to casually gear up, interact with NPCs, and relish exploring the world. In Challenge Dungeons, it’s all up to you! Challenge Dungeons also feature a ranking based on how much gold you have at the end of the run. Are you going to spend your gold to make sure you can pass, or are you greedy?
