Capcom and airsoft gun maker Tokyo Marui are collaborating to release a new airsoft gun inspired by Leon S. Kennedy’s original gun in the Resident Evil 4 Redo. The replica model is called “SG-09 R” and the toy will be released at the end of March 2023 in Japan. It will cost you 32,800 JPY (about 244 USD). (Thanks, Hobby Watch!)
The airsoft replica “SG-09 R” comes with a special magazine, titled “Survive Magazine #18”, and contains a report on the characteristics of the weapon. In addition, the airsoft gun also includes two additional magazines. The toy’s packaging is designed to replicate the same container that Leon’s gun uses in the game.
The reproduction features a serial number on the left side of the pistol’s breech, and the Kendo logo is engraved on its right side, a reference to resident Evil character and weapon maker Robert Kendo. You can check the Resident Evil 4 airsoft gun in more detail in the gallery below.
A different product that was considered, but ultimately not considered, is a reproduction of the iconic RE4 chainsaw controller, which was originally released for the GameCube and PS2.
The airsoft replica “SG-09 R” will be released at the end of March 2023. The new version of Resident Evil 4 It’s coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023.
