the throne is similar a cool character in octopathic traveler 2. She’s great for dealing damage, but she can also sneakily debuff enemies, buff allies, and possibly attack or debuff when things happen in battle. Not to mention, it’s one of the best ways to quickly build up a large inventory of all kinds of items and earn some cash, thanks to its ability to rob NPCs with its daytime Path Action. She is helpful and awesome!
How do you recruit Throne in octopathic traveler 2
The throne is in New Delta. If you didn’t choose her as your starting character, you’ll need to go there to meet her. It is south of Flamechurch that the story of Temenos begins.
How does Throne work in octopathic traveler 2
First, always make sure it’s dark when Throne is in your party and you’re just exploring the wilderness. His talent for blessing darkness is invaluable. Briefly boosts everyone’s stats, increasing their attack power and speed. That’s wonderful. She also has access to swords and daggers as weapons, so she has two weakness options covered right away.
As you would expect from a rogue, Throne is a fast attacker in octopath traveler it also involves advantages and disadvantages. But honestly, some of the best skills come from learning four or six of his skills so you can get Incident Attack and Trap as support skills.
Here are your skills. Note that Aeber’s Calculus can only be learned after possessing the other seven abilities.
- Steal: 2 SP for a chance to steal an enemy.
- Darkest Night: 7 SP to inflict Dark damage on an enemy.
- HP Thief: 6SP for attacking twice with a knife then gaining HP based on damage dealt.
- Surprise Attack: 12 SP for using a sword to attack an enemy. If Throne is one of the first people to act this turn, he deals more damage.
- Corrosive Armor: 4SP to weaken an enemy’s defense.
- Swift Step: 4SP to increase throne speed.
- Shackle Foe: 4SP to weaken an enemy’s attack.
- Aeber’s Reckoning: 30SP for dealing knife damage to all enemies. Like the surprise attack, acting earlier in the turn means more damage is dealt.
So make sure Throne gets HP Thief and Surprise Attack ASAP. Both help a lot! So I would say Armor Corrosive and Shackle Foe.
However, his support abilities are amazing. You want to get Incident Attack by learning four ASAP, because then there’s a 50% chance she’ll also attack and deal damage whenever she uses a support ability. Next, you want to get six abilities fast, because Ensnare means there’s a 50% chance you’ll debuff an enemy after dealing physical damage to them. His “unlock five skills” support ability, Fleetfoot, is also very useful, increasing his speed by 50 when equipped.
What’s also great about Throne is that it smashes the latent power ceiling without a trace. Allows you to act a second time after your first turn. This is very useful when facing large groups or bosses. (Or when you’re just starting out and don’t have a full group.)

Throne is great for adventure. During the day you can fly. This is a percentage-based action that allows you to take items from the inventory of NPCs. It was 30 hours before I spent money in the stores of octopathic traveler 2, because instead, Throne stole everything from me. It’s also great for getting all the key items you’ll eventually need for the side stories before you even realize those quests exist.
Ambush is good too! However, there are others who are more successful at knocking out NPCs to access areas or full side stories. Throne’s is based on your level. Meanwhile, Castti involves items, and you can use Ochette’s Provoke to hit people with a wide variety of animals. Not the best “this person needs to get out of my way and go to sleep” skill, but ok.
What side jobs are good for the throne in octopathic traveler 2
I’m only going to recommend a side job for Throne here, simply because it had similar good luck with it using it, i strongly suggest everyone give it a try.
Make Throne a hunter.
Is similar a good fit for her. You have no idea. Since the thief has a lot of random debuffs and statuses, this adds to that and allows him to use an ax or a bow. Take Aim is fantastic because it increases critical strike chance for her and all her allies. Leghold Trap slows down the enemy and makes them act last. Additionally Cleaving Blow allows you to deal ax damage while granting you a temporary buff. It is a blessing.
