Ever since The Squid Game hit Netflix and took the world by storm, we’ve been waiting to hear more about the plans for its second season, as well as when filming will begin for the new season.
and now we have received a new report from Ilgan Sports (thanks, CBR), which indicates that there is already a set start date for filming. This information comes from the main actor himself Lee Jung-jaewho said in an interview:
“Squid Game 2 will start filming this summer, and filming will likely take about 10 months. We also worked on the first season for about 10 months, but that was due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But As season 2 will be more important, we will probably need more time to finish it.”
So if this is the filming window, we can probably assume that the series will enter post-production for its second season around spring 2024, which means it probably won’t. until the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025 until the series premiere on the streaming service.
