As one of the most popular IPs in the world, it’s no surprise that the Embracer group has big plans for The Lord of the Rings. After acquiring the IP rights last year, a recent financial report from Embracer shows we could see up to 5 new titles based on the works of JRR Tolkien in the next fiscal year.

Before March 2024Embracer Group plans to launch five new games, which are currently being worked on by external studios. Currently, we know of two such games. One of them is The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a stealth adventure title that has been heavily delayed on several occasions, but is due out this year.

The other title is The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which will take you and a few friends on a co-op adventure with the dwarves through the legendary mines of Moria. Return to Moria will be released later this year on PC. The other three titles have yet to be announced, but it seems unlikely that they will be big console releases, more likely mobile games.

Are you excited to see any of these five new games set in the Lord of the Rings universe?
