With a budget of only 17 million dollars, Smile was one of the highest-grossing films of 2022, as it raised 216 million dollars around the world. Smile’s success as a new horror franchise felt like something of a renaissance for the genre, and it seems Paramount doesn’t want it to ever stay in bloom.
The Hollywood Reporter discovered that Primordial signed a multi-year agreement with Parker Finnthe filmmaker behind Smile, and they claim that Smile 2 will be part of this deal.
At this time, Paramount has not released any statement in this regard, but Finn is expected to direct, write and produce horror feature films for them.
