Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS4 and Xbox releases are not possible due to console hardware limitations, Respawn Entertainment said. That’s to be expected at this point in the PS5’s lifecycle, but in a new interview, game director Stig Asmussen shed light on the exact limitations.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS4 reportedly bogged down by CPU and memory

Speaking to PLAY Magazine (March 2023 issue via MP1st), Asmussen said the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Jedi: Survivor take advantage of the consoles’ processing power and larger, faster memory. As a result, Respawn is able to create larger maps, add more detail and density, and offer more variety of NPCs and enemies, among other things. Jedi: Survivor also takes advantage of DualSense.

“Simply put, we quickly learned that we could take advantage of faster CPUs, larger/faster memory, better load times, etc., to create much larger maps, with more detail. , higher density, greater variety of enemies/NPCs, and overall loyalty,” Asmussen said. “This next-gen has allowed us to do just that, and I think that translates into a true experience of next generation in the Star Wars universe.”

Sony recently said it is actively lobbying PS4 owners to make the transition to the PS5.
