The latest trailer for the Super Mario Bros. revealed that the Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy will appear in the movie, and I’m already obsessed with them.

Nintendo and Illumination released the latest trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie yesterday, and in it we got our first look at at least one Luma. Unlike how they appear in Mario Galaxy, this particular Luma is a bit… unbalanced? It’s unclear if we’ll see more of this star-shaped creature or more of its kind in the film, but right now I just can’t get enough of this little weirdo.

If you haven’t seen the scene I’m talking about yet, it takes place at the start of the latest trailer and features Luigi being imprisoned by Bowser in his castle. Hanging from a precarious cage, Luigi encounters King Penguin, who was the star of an earlier trailer, and a very cute Luma who says to Mario’s green brother, “Oooh, fresh meat for the grinder!” ! before going on to say, “There’s no escape, your only hope is a sweet release from death…” So yeah, the little guy is pretty chaotic.

It’s not just me who’s a fan of this Luma, several other Twitter users have also shared their love for the little guy, but most people are now wondering if this means we’ll see Luma’s adoptive mother, Rosalina , which was also presented. to the series in Super Mario Galaxy.

There has also been speculation as to whether this Luma was in the movie or if he’s supposed to be a specific character from the games. A twitter user (opens in a new tab) For example, he theorized that this specific Luma is actually Lumalee from Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, who also has a nice turquoise gradient and can usually be found holding signs in her hands and demanding pieces of stars to feed them.

We won’t have to wait long to see more of this little guy, as the Super Mario Bros. will be released on April 5, 2023. References to the series.
