The latest trailer for Disney and Marvel’s upcoming superhero movie slated for release this winter, The Marvels, is the subject of a fierce battle online. The video, which was posted just two days ago, had its comments box littered with loathing and toxic comments despite the studio’s claim that test screenings of the film were brilliant. As of this writing, the trailer has 399,000 dislikes to 413,000 likes, which as a percentage makes the Marvel trailer the least liked in UCM’s history.
We can compare the numbers with Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, whose 764,000 likes and 17,000 dislikes are much healthier numbers. In fact, even the criticized She-Hulk: Lawyer She-Hulk didn’t have it so badly, a series whose trailer got 786,000 likes and 553,000 dislikes.
If we look at the other official Marvel channels for Spanish-speaking countries, Latin America, and Indonesia, the stats are even worse. So clearly something is wrong here and fans seem genuinely upset with what was presented.
