The last of us season 1 The ending briefly cast Ashley Johnson, who voiced Ellie in the video game, as Ellie’s mother, Anna. Although brief, her role did the crucial job of revealing how Ellie became immune. But what fans of the game probably didn’t notice was that Abby’s actress, Laura Bailey, was in one of the final scenes of Episode 9: Seek the Light.
Where is Abby in The Last of Us season 1 finale?
Near the end of the episode, Joel heads to the operating room where Ellie is about to die. Going inside, he asks a team of two nurses and a surgeon to “unhook” Ellie. Bailey played one of those nurses.

Interestingly, show director and Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann revealed that Bailey played the same role in the original video game as well.
At a press conference, co-director Craig Mazin said he pitched Bailey’s appearance to HBO and they ended up with the role of a masked nurse. Bailey was apparently quite happy about it because “I’m going to be like this secret cameo that nobody knows anything about,” according to Insider.
Well now we all know.
