After The Last of Us PC port launched on Steam and Epic Games Store in an unpolished state with crashes, shading issues, and video RAM issues throughout, series developer Naughty Dog releases a release statement and explains how he plans to improve the stability and issues currently plaguing the PlayStation action-adventure game with co-developer Iron Galaxy.
Since its release, The Last of Us’ building shaders and crashing issues have marred the PC re-release of one of Naughty Dog’s most beloved games, and the developer took to Twitter to issue a statement to this topic, while describing exactly what you are planning. . to solve many of today’s problems. However, The Last of Us is still compatible with the Steam Deck, despite suffering from many of the same issues.
“The Last of Us Part I PC players: We know some of you haven’t experienced the quality of Naughty Dog that you expected. Our team is working hard to resolve the issues that are currently preventing some of you from experiencing the game to ensure it reaches the level of quality you expect and deserve,” says Naughty Dog.
“A hotfix addressing mouse-controlled camera movements, some crashes, and more for The Last of Us Part I on PC is scheduled for Tuesday,” it adds. “A larger patch with additional fixes will be released later this week.”
It’s Tuesday, April 4, with additional patches coming on Sunday, April 9. Naughty Dog also recommends that you update your Nvidia, AMD, and Intel graphics drivers to their latest versions. Many players have reported issues with the PS5 port, and a recent patch for The Last of Us on PC highlighted the widespread crashing issues, though many more are on the way.
“Our dedicated team and partners at Iron Galaxy will continue to investigate and resolve known issues to deliver the great The Last of Us Part I experience you’ve come to expect,” Naughty Dog concludes.
While The Last of Us Steam reviews shouldn’t be taken as gospel of the general consensus of player experience with the port, Naughty Dog’s patch promotion and player communication shows the team is aware of the current state of the game for many. and intends to improve it.
