Actor Troy Baker has revealed he was “never promised a role” in The Last of Us HBO TV Show despite being voiced by main protagonist Joel Miller in the games. Baker had a role on the show as James, a character he initially did not recognize. However, James was an improvement over the character he originally thought he was playing.

Troy Baker thought he was a Clicker on The Last of Us TV show

Baker told Vulture he wasn’t guaranteed a role in The Last of Us TV series, but when co-creator Neil Druckmann and showrunner Craig Mazin told him a role was available, he thought it would be a Clicker. As Baker told IGN, he would have made “a terrible clicker, by the way,” it’s probably better if Druckmann and Mazin offered him the role of James instead. The problem is that when asked to play the part, Baker couldn’t remember who he was: “I’m like, ‘Oh, man, thanks. Who is James?

The penultimate episode featured James as one of the antagonists in charge of another group of survivors. Episode 8 became the series’ highest rated episode despite the continued lack of Infected. The final episode will air next weekend, but it will “massively” divide fans.
