There are several ways to grind materials in Atomic Heart. The easiest thing to do is to use your glove to search every box, cabinet, and chest you find. The surface world is full of them, and you’ll find plenty of them as you explore the main lab dungeons. Even Proving Grounds have these items to research. They don’t give you much, but if you slow down the game and search for everything, you’ll end up with so many materials that you can craft ammo and upgrades without having to worry about having enough resources.

Loot your enemy’s corpses

Enemies are another great source of materials. Each one you kill, whether organic or mechanical, will allow you to pull something out with your gauntlet. As with in-game furniture, you may not realize you need these resources. However, if you don’t pick them up, you will feel the tension. We spend a lot of time collecting something from each enemy after clearing a room. Bosses give you awesome materials, so don’t forget to check them every time a big battle ends. Follow this pattern and you’ll be treated to an incredible wealth of resources.

As we briefly mentioned above, Testing Grounds is a great place to pick up extra materials. They’re full of enemies, occasionally include a boss, and always have decent loot to collect. You can access all of them from the middle of the game’s story. If you want to take your time and always be ready, we recommend that you complete them all in order to see everything the game has to offer and never having to worry about crafting supplies.

Dismantle ammo and unwanted items

You’ll pick up ammo for all kinds of weapons in Atomic Heart, but you won’t need it. You can keep unwanted items in storage, but eventually you’ll get to the point where you have a set load and don’t want to change. Once you’re there, you need to dismantle all the ammo you have for the weapons you don’t need. You can do this by stockpiling the ammo, switching to the dismantle option, and then dismantling anything you don’t want.
