Prime Matter revealed the long-awaited System shock redesign it’s been delayed indefinitely on PS5 and PS4 consoles and won’t be released again at the end of March. While the game received a new release date in May on PC, the console versions did not receive an update.

Why was System Shock Remake delayed yet again?

The publisher explained that it hoped to release the game on PC and consoles by the end of the month, but “it turned out to be beyond our reach”. The upshot is that the game will now launch on PC on May 30. However, the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | System Shock Remake’s S and Xbox One have been delayed indefinitely and will be released “in due course”. More details on these releases will be released later.

This isn’t the first time the game has been delayed, although players are hoping it will be the last. System Shock was originally revealed in 2015 as a reboot of the franchise and a successful Kickstarter managed to raise the necessary funds for development. The initial release window was in 2017, but the game later switched engines and the release window was pushed back. Development was paused in 2018 before restarting and a new release window was given in 2020. This became 2021, then 2022 and finally March 2023. I guess a few more months probably won’t make much of a difference.
