While there’s been quite a bit of buzz around the Lilo & Stitch live-action remake (which seems to be the case with all the live-action Disney greenlights these days), anime movie fans and TV shows will be happy to know that at least one original cast member appears to be returning.

The Hollywood Reporter said that Chris Sanders, the individual who co-wrote and directed the 2002 film and played the voice role behind the titular alien lovable, Stitch, is in “end negotiations to reprise his role in this live-action remake.

Considering Stitch will likely be a CGI character in the movie, it seems fitting to bring back the person who helped make the character so beloved in this new iteration of the franchise, something that even Super Mario Bros. : The Movie He Decided Not to Explore, when he cast Chris Pratt as Mario and not Mario’s voice actor, Charles Martinet.

Does this make you more excited for Lilo & Stitch live action?
