The owners of the Deponia point-and-click adventure trilogy series must have been very surprised when they discovered this overnight purchase. it had been partially deleted from his Steam library.

The problem is the Gamebook, which contains three parts of Daedalic Entertainment’s game series. Released in 2015, the set included the games: Deponia, Chaos of Deponia and Goodbye Deponia. Only the first installment was deleted, the other two remained alone.

The issue was addressed in the thread posted by the Steam community. As we read, players received a terse message. We present it to you below (source is one of our editors):

Such an announcement seems quite strange, considering that the games coming from Gamebook were purchased quite legally; it included not only the game disc, but also a guide to the world of Deponia. The now defunct Cdp.pl, Poland’s oldest video game distributor, was behind its launch.

The developers at Daedalic Entertainment, in the same Steam thread, assured that they are monitoring the situation and will try to clarify it soon. As players point out, it may be the invalidation of keys previously held by cdp.pl.

“The problem, however, is that a similar situation has happened before. On April 1, 2021, Overfall disappeared from player accounts after the developer invalidated all 2018 keys that had been sold. failure to pay them. However, it turned out that a considerable part of the invalidated keys had been paid for, and among the victims were, for example, purchasers of the Fanatical package. The case was quite publicized, and “Seems to me that Steam should, after something like this, make sure nothing like this happens again. As you can see, we just did it again and who knows what the next step. To me, Steam is dead until it starts making sure that consumer ownership (i.e. license to use) doesn’t go away because of “bugs” or other ‘magic’,” wrote user sdsdsafasfasd.

The question remains what Daedalic Entertainment will do. However, we assume that the situation will soon find a happy ending; after all, many players have been affected and dropping them would be a great injustice.
