According to reliable rumors, Sony will make two game shows in the coming months.

Credible rumors have surfaced online about Sony’s plans for the next few months.

  1. The Japanese company would hold two presentations during the first half of this year.
  2. The first, State of Play, is expected to take place soon (maybe even in February) and will focus on games from other publishers.
  3. The second event, PlayStation Showcase, will spotlight Sony’s own games and will take place ahead of E3 in June.
  4. We give credence to these rumors because their source is a very reputable journalist, Jeff Grubb.

Any Sony shows will undoubtedly be big events.. Players can expect news from games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (the last time we saw footage from this project was in 2021) or Final Fantasy XVI. Fans of the latter brand are also waiting for new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth videos.

Scheduling the show for the next few weeks makes sense. After all, Sony’s biggest competitors have already made their presentations: in January there was Microsoft Developer_Direct, and a few days ago we could see the Nintendo Direct broadcast, full of trailers.

As for the big PlayStation Showcase before E3, this show is already a tradition at Sony. The company hasn’t been to the show itself for a long time, but held conferences shortly before the event. According to recent reports, Microsoft and Nintendo will follow in the company’s footsteps this year. These console makers have also been holding their own conferences outside of showrooms for a while now, but this year they shouldn’t even have a booth.
