The highly anticipated action-survival game Sons of the Forest launches today on Steam’s Early Access.

Tonight marks the debut of Sons of the Forest, a survival action game and sequel to the hit The Forest.

  1. The game will launch today on PC at 19:00 CET.
  2. The game will be sold as part of Steam Early Access.
  3. The developers expect the game to spend 6-8 months in early access, but this period can be extended if needed.
  4. For now we don’t know the price of the game. What we do know is that version 1.0 will not be more expensive than the Early Access version.
  5. The first version will feature single player and cooperative multiplayer modes for up to eight people. In the following months, the developers want to add new objects and buildings, introduce additional mechanics and expand the context of the story.

Initially, the developers had no plans for early access, but delays in the works led them to decide that it was better to have an early version than to postpone the release again.

Such a decision was well received by the fan community. Unsurprisingly, the first The Forest spent four years in Early Access and the game has benefited greatly from that time, so fans are used to playing early versions of this developer’s works.

It is worth mentioning that many Steam users are waiting for the game.
