Good news: Sons of the Forest hotkeys are here, as developer Endnight Games fixes one of the most glaring omissions from the hugely popular survival horror game on Steam in a new patch. If you struggled with managing your inventory in the sequel to The Forest, this small but crucial change will make surviving in Sons of the Forest a whole lot easier.
The exam allows you Assign hotkeys to items in your Sons of the Forest inventory by pressing number keys on your keyboard while hovering over them. You’ll get ten hotkey slots for all buttons 0-9, then you can quickly switch on the fly. This is a big change that should make it easier to quickly swap out your shovel and fire your shotgun in Sons of the Forest when under attack.
That’s not all, as you can now also press the “return” key (Esc by default) to close the Tutorial Book, Build Book, and Scavenger Bag – something that doesn’t appear to be a problem. until you start playing and realize how these built-in concepts are in the brains of your PC games.
The option to skip the scene has also been slightly improved. It will now prompt to skip scenes in Sons of the Forest when first started, or if you press common jump keys like Escape or Space. The team also added new tips to the loading screen to let players know about the new hotkey system and how heavy attacks work.
It’s good to see Endnight moving quickly to update common complaints – the addition of hotkeys is a small change, but a very welcome one. After all, not only will it make dealing with Sons of the Forest’s hordes of mutants and cannibals much easier (because who wants to rummage through their inventory when a drooling killer is all over you?), it’s also satisfying. keys and quickly switch between items while traveling the world.
