We know the release date of the new DLC for SnowRunner. This time, we’ll be heading to Canada to put out fires and admire Ontario’s fall landscapes from the windows of two new vehicles.

Fans of slow walking in mud and nature will probably be delighted by the information about the imminent release of a new DLC for SnowRunner. Season 9: Renew & Rebuild will be released on February 28, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It will offer players two new regions, thematically defined in Ontario, Canada, two vehicles and new mechanics related to firefighting.

SnowRunner is a simulation game that allows us to sit behind the wheel of off-road machines and cross nature and carry out missions that require the player to think and plan the route (and sometimes a lot of patience). Compared to other games, it stands out for advanced physics simulation of terrain, especially mud. The game developers are constantly working on additional content: they’ve released eight big DLCs containing new terrains and vehicles (and several smaller ones with skins and truck packs).

The latest expansion, which will be released on February 28, is the ninth in the series and unlocks Year 3 Pass content . Its owners will be able to download the DLC for free on launch day, while the rest of the interested parties will have to purchase it. Renovating and rebuilding is above all two new maps, each with an area of 4 square kilometers – Albany River and burnt forest. They contain environmental elements specific to Ontario, Canada.

As we saw in the eighth expansion, Saber Interactive tries to add new mechanics in successive DLCs. This is also the case this time around: Renew & Rebuild will allow players to feel a bit like firefighters. Both cards will count burned forest areas and firefighting related missionscarry water and rebuild water towers.

The developers have prepared two new vehicles for players (unfortunately, both unlicensed), equipped with exclusive firefighting accessories:

  • Derry Special 15C-177– An unlicensed version of an Oshkosh M977 HEMTT heavy military tractor. It has four driving axles and powerful motors. It could be a good US alternative to the ZikZ 605R.
  • ZiKZ 566A: A small van inspired by the real MAZ 200 of the 1950s. A simple and versatile vehicle for small jobs and scouting.

In addition to the new trucks, we will receive new trailers and accessories suitable for water transport. These could already be seen in the test version of the DLC, available for beta testing.

Year 3 Pass with four new DLCs

The Season Pass, in addition to Season 9: Renew & Rebuild, is expected to include three other DLCs, numbered 10, 11, and 12. Although we know next to nothing about them, the game publisher has revealed that will feature vehicles from Mack and Kenworth. So, the SnowRunner world is still waiting for a lot of additional content. Fans of this game need no convincing, they are eagerly awaiting, and gamers who have yet to experience this title are welcome: the sight of heavy vehicles crawling through the mud is incredibly captivating, and the joy of completing a difficult mission through a self-discovered method is immeasurable.
