Game developer Splash Damage has announced that it’s teaming up with Mike “Shroud” Grzesiek and Chris “Sacriel” Ball to create an open-world survival game.

Known as Project Astrid currently, we’re told the game is the “bold step forward” to the developer, and that this title gives them the “opportunity to build a new and original world, like Brink and Dirty Bomb. However, now we have the freedom to do so on a much more ambitious scale.” Chris and I have refined a vision for the sequel in the survival genre and with Splash Damage, we decided to build on that. We want to make the best survival game ever, and with the brains of Sacriel and the team at Splash Damage, I know we can do it,” Shroud said..

Splash Damage shared that Project Astrid is still in pre-production, and we can expect more information and reveals in the near future. Additionally, the developer confirmed that they are still hard at work developing Transformers: Reactivate as well.
