The Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy are unique in that they are not taught to you by your teachers, but rather learned through nefarious means drawn from books of the dark arts. These spells are powerful, but they’re known as Unforgivable Curses for a reason.

Using them multiple times in the main game doesn’t seem to have any consequences. Even when you are in the middle of a story quest, using these spells does not trigger character conversation or show that your character is walking down a dark path. Using them becomes another tool in your growing rotation of spells to learn while playing Hogwarts Legacy.

It’s natural to be wary of this, especially since the developers have hinted that your choices for completing specific in-game tasks and overall progress can influence the outcome. Luckily, regularly using one of these three spells against your enemies doesn’t seem like a problem. Although your character says the name of these curses in a dark tone, hinting at the potential path they have chosen. However, your character can cause a negative relationship to develop with other characters depending on the choices they make for certain side quests.
