The upcoming action-adventure game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has been delayed for a few weeks due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Along with an update provided on the game’s Steam page (opens in a new tab), Frogwares also released a video explaining why the team felt the need to delay Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, and showing how it is preparing for its launch, and even some game hardware. In the video, members of the development team show the reality of creating games in Ukraine at the moment. Due to things like power outages, tasks that should take a few hours to implement in-game take days, so it takes a few extra weeks to make up for that.

“We tried very hard to meet our scheduled launch window, but the almost daily power outages, as well as the missile strikes that occur every 10 days or so, forced us to reschedule everything,” says Frogwares. “It also means that the game itself has also been affected, not just the schedule. But we will do our best and keep going as long as we can. Once we feel we are a month away from launch, we will we can announce our exact release date.”

Luckily, it seems fans of the upcoming game have fully understood the circumstances, with several of them responding to the developer’s tweet telling the team to take all the time they need in-game and stay safe. . Which is quite moving to see.
