It looks like SEGA is preparing to launch a new version of Sonic Origins under the name of Sonic Origins Plus, as indicated by a new record achieved by the company in the country of South Korea. Previously, video game announcements were made through registrations in this region, so now we just have to wait for an official confirmation from SEGA.

A few days ago, the South Korean Game Classification and Administration Committee re-registered SEGA for Sonic Origins Plus, which has yet to be officially announced. However, in the past, SEGA has used the term “Plus” for releases with additional content, so they might be planning that for Sonic Origins.

Sonic Origins is a compilation and remaster of the first games in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which arrived mid last year and includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. At this time, it’s unclear what additional content the new Sonic Origins Plus might offer.

Some examples of these collections include the Sonic Mega Collection, which originally arrived in 2002 with the Mega Drive/Genesis games, but two years later became the Sonic Mega Collection Plus with six more Game Gear games. Similarly, Sonic Mania received its Sonic Mania Plus version with a new Encore mode and new playable characters.

At the moment, the latest SEGA release was Sonic Colors Ultimate on Steam a few days ago, which came with discounts of up to 75% for all blue hedgehog games from the Valve store on PC, including Sonic Origins .
