Recent leaks from Fortnite indicate that a new character from wonder it might be playable in the game soon.
The appearance of the fan favorite, Sam Wilsonwho currently holds the title of ‘Captain America‘ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this could be the first opportunity for Fortnite players to play as Sam Wilson’s Captain America if the leak is confirmed.
The character in question, Sam Wilson, began his career as “Hawk”, a minor character in Captain America #117, in 1969. With powers like flying with mechanical wings and talking to birds (which, at least in the comics, they were real birds, not mechanical birds), it started to gain prominence over the years.
Finally, in 2014, he became Captain America for the first time in the comics, a step he would follow in the MCU. And now Wilson will star in the next Captain America: New World Order movie, which is slated for release in 2024.
Now, according to leaker Shiina, there is strong evidence to suggest that Sam Wilson may be flying to Fortnite soon. First, they claim that data mining discovered a new game sound file called “SoundLibrary_Glider_Elevate_Wings”. The same in the doc is pretty self-explanatory, as it suggests a winged character could be added.
The other piece of evidence is an unused Captain America outfit that was added in the update. Together, the two could signal that a flying character using a Captain America set is coming, and there’s only one Marvel character that fits the description.
Shiina, the source behind the leak, is also a fairly reliable leaker. With over a million followers on the platform, he leaked, for example, Fortnite’s first-person mode long before it became a reality.
