Roblox will adapt Creatures of Sonaria into an animated television series, but also Twilight Daycare!

Decidedly, the adaptations of video games in cinema or television have multiplied in recent months. Mario, Sonic, Uncharted, Halo, God of War, Fallout, Castlevania, Monster Hunter, Mortal Kombat… Not to mention The Last of Us with episode 5 released last weekend. The new television adaptation that is coming? Surprisingly, it’s Roblox!

A series based on Creatures of Sonaria, a Roblox game

Roblox is a very popular game among young people. This title acts as a giant sandbox to create an infinite number of different experiences. Today, an animated series produced by Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and overseen by CEO Catherine Winder has been announced. The latter worked in particular at Lucasfilm (Indiana Jones, Star Wars…). Wind Sun Sky is known for the Invincible series on Prime Video.

The Roblox series will unfold in the creature world of Sonaria, a survival game created by Sonar Studios. A project in episodic format with new creatures and challenges for the characters. Samuel Garcia, head of the publisher Twin Atlas to whom we owe Creatures of Sonaria, confided in Deadline on this series.

I am very happy to be working with Catherine and the team of storytellers at WInd Sun Sky to add narrative depth to our characters and engage our fans in new ways. As our partnership grows, we continue to pursue rich universes with immersive, cross-platform potential like Creatures of Sonaria. The goal is to expand these types of stories to a global audience and address what fans are looking for in the metaverse.

This reference to the metaverse is not specified by Samuel Garcia. We imagine Twin Atlas has big plans for these virtual worlds (which are still struggling to get off the ground). Wind Sun Sky will also work about the series adaptation of Twilight Daycare, another Roblox game. For the moment, these projects do not have a release date. We imagine that they will be aimed at a rather young audience, such as sandbox players.
