Returnal only managed to beat Sackboy: A Big Adventure on Steam
Despite receiving critical acclaim, Returnal apparently failed to resonate with PC gamers. Spotted by PushSquare, SteamDB reveals that it only managed to beat Sackboy: A Big Adventure in terms of concurrent players at launch.
However, not all is pessimism. Returnal’s PC sales may have legs.
Sony’s best PC release to date in terms of concurrent players is God of War, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn. Rounding out the top five is Days Gone and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Returnal, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are the least popular first-party PlayStation games on PC, respectively.
A BAFTA-winning game, Returnal launched with a number of PC-specific features and boasts an impressive 87% average score on Metacritic. On Steam, it has a “very positive” rating based on 1,254 user votes (81% upvotes).
