In the first two days of its release, sales of Resident Evil 4 Remake It has already exceeded 3 million copies. This includes both physical and digital releases, as well as sales across all four platforms. While it obviously didn’t surpass its original, it may be on its way to surpassing the 2005 version of Resident Evil 4.

Capcom cites the demo and positive reviews online as the reason Resident Evil 4 Remake was so successful so soon after release. Although it has a modernized story and gameplay feel, with new visuals and a new engine, it more or less follows the same story. Players will take control of secret agent Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to Spain to rescue the President’s daughter, Ashley Graham.

Based on 2020 stats, here are the total lifetime sales of the original Resident Evil 4 across its various platforms:

  • nintendo gamecube: 1.6 million
  • Nintendo Wii: 2 millions
  • PS2: 2.3 million
  • PS4/Xbox enablede: 1.9 million
  • PC with Windows: 1.2 million
  • Xbox 360/PS3: 1.2 million

That’s a grand total of 10.2 million units sold. Resident Evil 4 Remake has already sold more copies than the initial GameCube and PS2 releases. Not only do fans already know about the legacy of Resident Evil 4but digital purchases are probably more convenient and accurate than going to the store to buy a physical copy.

The new version of Resident Evil 4 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Windows PC.
