Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode launched a day early in some regions, and players are expressing disappointment at the “missing” characters and levels. There’s also the introduction of pay-to-win DLC which also raises concerns.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries Mode Launch Content

Mercenaries mode will apparently launch tomorrow, April 7, with four characters: Leon, Luis, Krauser, and HUNK. There will also be three levels, which are the village, the castle, and the island, according to in-game footage found by ResetEra.

A previous data mine had revealed that the mode would have six characters and four levels. Ada Wong and Albert Wesker are the two characters missing from Resident Evil 4’s Mercenaries mode, while Leon was also set to get an alternate costume. Disappointed that this content was missing, fans are now hoping it will be released alongside the rumored Separate Ways DLC.

Another problem for these players is that new DLCs have appeared on the PlayStation Store in the form of weapon upgrade ticket packs. These tickets can be redeemed at any time in the trader’s shop in exchange for an exclusive weapon upgrade, and more than the two already available to earn in the game’s campaign can be purchased. However, it should be noted that these tickets cannot be used in Mercenaries mode and will not be allowed to affect rankings.
