The new update (version 7.0) will integrate the application Discord and PS5. This instant messaging has been the most used means of communication by gamers for several years. With this application, the PS5 offers a new function that will surely delight many people. Until now, it was only available in beta version and it was then reserved for developers. How to have Discord on your PS5?
First, you need to create a Discord account (no need to specify) for those who haven’t already. If you already have an account, all you have to do is log in via PC or smartphone using the app. Next, you need to link your PlayStation Network (PSN) account to your Discord account. This operation is done via the Discord application (on mobile or PC).
If the accounts have already been linked, you will have to repeat this manipulation to accept the new authorizations. After that, go to your account settings and follow the path below: User Settings > Connections. There you will find the PlayStation icon, then sign in to your PSN.
With this operation, you have successfully connected your Discord account to your PS5. However, it is not over, because to use Discord during the game, you will have to go through your PC or your smartphone in order to have the messaging system.
How do I join a Discord conversation on PS5?
To join the desired voice channel, click on the option “Join on PlayStation”. This will forward voicemail directly to your PS5. Next, you will need to tap on voice transfer and only then Discord voice chat will be available on the PS5.
