While the latest PlayStation console has been on the market since late 2020, Sony officials already seem to be planning for the arrival of a PS6.

Marketed for a little over two years, the PS5 has already offered very nice exclusives, such as Gran Turismo 7, Horizon: Forbidden West or God of War: Ragnarök.

PS5: Has the PS6 release date been leaked yet? The crazy rumor of the moment

While the war between Sony and Microsoft around the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard continues, the Japanese firm had to send several confidential documents to the CMA, the British regulatory authority for competition and markets. In view of the current situation, the content of these famous documents has been made public.

A section of these various files states that “by the time Sony launches its next generation of consoles, the company would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, leaving it extremely vulnerable in terms of competitiveness” . If the date mentioned here is hidden, we can still deduce a lot of things…

Indeed, in a second step, Sony clarified that Microsoft would continue to offer Activision games on the PlayStation console until 2027. Does this mean that the PS6 will be released in 4 years? Of course, none of this has been confirmed yet, but it could still be the shortest lifecycle since the PS1.

While we await further information on the future of PlayStation, we hope to be able to enjoy a new showcase of the successes coming to PS5 soon. Some series, such as Marvel’s Wolverine or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, would also benefit from pointing the nose!
