Disney’s Zootopia was released in 2016 to great critical and commercial acclaim and became the fourth highest-grossing animated film of all time until it was overtaken by The Incredibles 2 a few years later. To this we must add that it also won the Oscar for best animated film of this 2016.

Logically, Disney wouldn’t miss the opportunity to capitalize on such success, expanding the franchise with a slew of sequels and other projects. Truth? In fact, he gave up. We’ve had next to nothing since then, other than the Zootopia+ spin-off that premiered on Disney+ a few months ago, and fans haven’t liked it much. But now, seven years later, Disney has finally decided to do the right thing, according to Screen Rant.

During the presentation of Disney’s quarterly results, Bob Iger, recently revived, revealed that Zootropolis 2 has finally officially launched. Although they didn’t give any further details, we assume most of the cast (including actors like Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, and JK Simmons) will be back to reprise their roles.

Hopefully we’ll get more information as soon as possible, but for now, let’s enjoy this happy news.
