Dead by Daylight, the hit multiplayer horror in which a group of survivors attempt to escape purgatory while a terrifying killer stalks the map will get its own film adaptation, lifting it out of limbo and onto the big screen.

Dead by Daylight is a collaboration between acclaimed Blumhouse horror film studio, Atomic Monster, and Canada’s largest video game studio, Behavior Interactive. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with two giants of the horror film industry, Jason Blum and James Wan, to further expand the universe of Dead by Daylight,” said Stephen Mulrooney, executive vice president of Behavior Interactive.

Since the release of Dead by Daylight, the game has seen over 50 million players enter the Mists, so there will be plenty of fans waiting for this project. However, Jason Blum seems confident that he and James Wan will find the right director and screenwriter for the job.

“We know there are a lot of Dead by Daylight fans out there and we think it’s imperative to find someone who appreciates and loves the world as much as we do to help us bring the game to the big screen,” said Blum said. “We know our partners at Behavior and Atomic Monster will help us bring the best version of this game to life.”
