This year Niantic will host the big Pokémon GO Fest in the mobile game of the same name. Due to the continuing rampant corona pandemic, the studio decided with a heavy heart to turn it into a global digital event – as it did last year – and to forego a local event at a certain location.

It has not yet revealed all the details about the event. But at this point we want to present you all the information we have known so far.

According to current plans, this year’s Pokémon GO Fest will take place from July 17th to 18th – purely digital, of course. If you take the experience from the past year to hand, the associated activities should take place again on both days from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., so that you will have sufficient opportunity to participate.

It can be safely assumed that Niantic will offer special rewards on both days and that an event ticket with certain advantages or bonuses will also be available to buy again.

The team has not yet given any specific details, but in view of the upcoming anniversaries of both Pokémon in general and Pokémon GO in particular, you should certainly expect a lot. The announcement states:

“What does the event have to offer this year? You have to wait and see! In 2021 we will celebrate both the 25th anniversary of Pokémon and the 5th anniversary of Pokémon GO -Festival 2021 shouldn’t be missed! We can’t wait to experience another summer with you! We’ll keep you posted!”

Fittingly: These events await you in May 2021 at Pokémon GO

Due to the musical notes that can be seen in the official teaser picture, some fans are already speculating that the pocket monster Meleotta could make a big appearance at the event. It is a 5th generation Pokémon and has a “singing form”. We stay on the ball for you!
