The popularity of Last Epoch skyrocketed on Steam. It’s thanks to a new patch and the included mode that players have been waiting for for years.

Eleventh Hour Games has reason to be satisfied. In recent days, the popularity of the Last Epoch hack’n’slash has exploded on Steam.

  1. Yesterday the game set a new activity record for 40,591 people play simultaneously.
  2. For comparison, the previous record was just over 6,000 concurrent players and was set two years ago. This year, daily registrations were around 1-2,000 people.
  3. The reason for the sudden increase in popularity of the game is update 0.9, released on March 9. The patch finally introduced the long-awaited multiplayer mode..
  4. The update also introduced new maps and items (including armor), improved models of some items, and better game balance. Additionally, previously unknown enemies appeared in the game world.
  5. The excellent reception of patch 0.9 is also reflected in player reviews on Steam. Counting them all since launch day in Early Access, 76% of them praise Last Epoch. On the other hand, considering only those from the last 30 days, the proportion of positive reviews rises to 85%, and most of them were issued after the update was published.

Multiplayer is still only available in beta, but as you can see, that hasn’t stopped its warm reception. Players have been waiting for this option for a long time. After all, Last Epoch debuted on Steam Early Access in April 2019.

As of now, the developers are not yet ready to give an expected release date for the full version of the game. However, the fact that the latest update bears the number 0.9 suggests that it should arrive soon.

Remember that Last Epoch is available exclusively on PC.
