Sony seems to be ramping up promotion of its PlayStation Plus service lately, as the latest additions to the service have introduced some of the heavy hitters in the PlayStation console catalog. But in addition, the company celebrates with the Festival of Play event, which offers game tests (like the first three hours of God of War: Ragnarök), a new PlayStation Stars campaign, double discounts on games, a raffle to win a Bravia XR OLED TV and more, and even a free online multiplayer weekend.

This is the real kick-off of the event, since it is the most accessible for all PlayStation owners. Any PlayStation 4 or 5 user will be able to play free online multiplayer games this weekend (February 18 and 19) without the need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus.

There will also be a PlayStation Tournament in FIFA 23, Guilty Gear Strive and NBA 2K23 over the weekend, and all PS Plus subscribers who participate in the Free Weekend Online will also receive a digital collectible to add to their PlayStation Stars collection. .

Are you going to try your hand at PlayStation online mode this weekend?
