Life is full of great mysteries. What happened before the Big Bang? Is there intelligent life in other parts of the universe? Is peanut butter liquid? Of course, the last question really makes me wonder if we can call ourselves “intelligent life”, but thankfully the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has finally put this to bed, which means we can turn our attention to other really important questions, like is jam or mayonnaise also a liquid?

Following an uproar of recent questions on social media, the TSA released an Instagram post, confirming that peanut butter is a liquid, as it “it has no definite form and takes a form dictated by its container”.

That means you have to treat it like toothpaste and mouthwash when it comes to carry-on baggage, and therefore you can’t take more than 3.4 oz or more into the cabin of an airplane.

It’s probably not the news peanut butter lovers have been looking for to complete their walk, but we’re all alike.
