It looks like video game accessory maker Turtle Beach is working on an overhaul of one of its Xbox controllers, according to a recently filed patent.

This controller would feature a touchscreen that could be used to record custom controller loadouts, track player performance, and connect to social media. There would also be connectivity to some sort of mobile app.

As pointed out in various social media posts, this Xbox “stealth controller” appears to be an update to Turtle Beach’s “Recon” model. In the patent image, there’s even a small Turtle Beach logo on the bottom of the controller.

Since this is a patent, that means nothing has been finalized yet, and it may or may not go ahead. There might also be revisions along the way. It also wouldn’t be the first Xbox controller to do something like this. Last year, Asus introduced a new Xbox controller with an integrated OLED display.

Earlier this week, Xbox also revealed two other color options for the Elite Series 2 line of controllers: red and blue.

What do you think of the above patent? Would you be interested in a controller with a touchscreen that would show you all sorts of additional information? Comments below.
