Another alpha is coming soon! This one from sci-fi theme, TCG, Parallel. Although only available to those who receive invitations, Early Access applications for Parallel are open to everyone.
Parallel constantly releases new packages every few months. And now, finally, collectors can see these cards in action during Early Access, the Closed Alpha!
Players can request early access on . The Parallel team said email invites will start sending out on February 22, for the planned alpha release date of February 28.
The specs for playing the alpha are pretty minimal. Windows 7+, 8G RAM, 3G disk space. While I don’t think you need to have any NFTs to join the alpha, I imagine those with large card collections can get priority access.
Parallel maps have a very distinctive and dark art style. You can get cards at Open Sea for as little as $1.50 (USD).
Interestingly, parallel NFTs do not include game stats. This allows the team to make changes and balances as needed. They also open a ‘tap’ card at a regular cadence. Players who activate the faucet can receive a free NFT card, paying only for the gas costs involved.

What is Parallel?
Parallel is a sci-fi TCG with some interesting mechanics.
Much of this is the standard we expect with a digital TCG these days. Two players build a deck of cards, then take turns drawing and playing these cards in a duel. The first player to reduce their opponent to zero life wins. Cards are of three types: units, effects (spells) and relics. Parallel offers five “parallels”, which are similar to gods/summoners/champions/etc. in other games.
Players build decks of 40 cards in parallel. Each deck can have up to three copies of a card in its deck, except for legendary cards, which can only be included once. Each deck can use parallel cards as well as cards marked as universal. Additionally, players choose a Paragon for their deck. Paragons provide passive bonuses throughout the match, regardless of status, and then also function as in-game units with stats and potentially other bonuses or effects.
Parallel’s mana/energy system requires players to “bank” cards from their hand. Each deposited card provides additional maximum energy each turn. Players start the game with zero energy, so they will need to lay down at least one card. Players can lay down one card per turn, and on a turn where they lay down a card, they draw an additional card at the end of their turn.
Parallel offers a play and win feature. Players who win games with NFT cards in their deck receive PRIME tokens. But Parallel will also include a free play option.
PRIME is the main token of the game, and card collectors can already earn something by staking their cards. Additionally, Parallel offers a map creation tool called Payload. Players can pay a fee in PRIME tokens to generate new cards.
