Square Enix has shared a final look at Octopath Traveler II with a new trailer. The company is celebrating the release of its latest Switch RPG.

This game is a brand new entry in the OCTOPATH TRAVELER series, the first installment of which was originally released in 2018 and has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. It takes the series’ HD-2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3DCG, to even greater heights.
In the world of Solistia, eight new travelers venture into an exciting new era. Where you are going? What will you do? Whose story will you bring to life? Every path belongs to you. Embark on an adventure on your own.

1. Begin your adventure as one of eight new travelers, each with their own unique origins, motivations, and abilities.
2. The series’ HD-2D graphics, a fusion of retro pixel art and 3DCG, have reached even greater heights.
3. The story takes place in Solistia, where various cultures from east to west thrive and new age industries thrive. You can navigate the seas and explore every corner of a world that changes from day to night.
4. Each traveler has a unique set of route actions that they can use to fight townspeople, get items, take others on a journey, etc. Where you are going? What will you do? Every path belongs to you.
5. Familiar mechanics from the original game have been retained, such as the freedom to develop your travelers’ tasks and skills, as well as the Break and Boost system that made battles so exciting. New mechanics have also been added.
