JRPG fans should be in celebration, because Square Enix has just launched the long-awaited game Octopath Traveler II and you can already buy and play it on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam, as it has reached all modern platforms except Xbox.

Octopath Traveler II was created by the same team that delivered the first installment nearly five years ago, so it’s a direct evolution that seeks to improve every aspect of the game, from its gameplay to its story. The reviews it has received so far have been overwhelmingly positive, and you can now play Octopath Traveler II on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC.

In Octopath Traveler II we find an epic story divided into eight, with chapters dedicated to each character with completely new gameplay elements. Although it’s a sequel, Square Enix says Octopath Traveler II is a perfect game for newcomers because you don’t need to play the original to understand the story as it takes place in a self-contained world.

Square Enix has enhanced Octopath Traveler’s HD 2.5D pixel art visual style for the sequel, so we can explore a beautiful 3D world with a retro feel. The new story of Octopath Traveler II takes us to the lands of Solilistia and introduces us to the following characters: Hikari, Agnea, Partitio, Osvald, Throné, Temenos, Ochette and Casti.

You can start playing Octopath Traveler II right now thanks to the fact that it has a free demo, which was released a few weeks ago by Square Enix and is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. This free demo allows us to play the first 3 hours of Octopath Traveler II and has transferable progress to the full version of the game.
