Acquire’s Octopath Traveler 2 has received a free demo on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5, while the PC version will arrive on February 9. The Prologue demo lets you play as all eight protagonists for three hours, with starting areas available to freely explore (although you can’t travel beyond). By the way, the progress carries over to the full game.
Following on from the 2018 RPG, which first introduced the HD-2D visual style, Octopath Traveler 2 introduces eight all-new characters.
Each has a unique story and different ways to interact with NPCs. For example, Ochette, the Hunter, can provoke people and fight them in battle, while Partitio, the Merchant, is engaged in trade.
The Break and Boost battle system from the first game returns, with Latent Power allowing a powerful ability to be used once the meter is full. The protagonists will also interact more with each other and play out unique stories across Crossroads.
Octopath Traveler 2 will be released on February 24 on PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch.
