Studio Don’t Nod presented Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, in which we will decide the fate of humanity within a “unique narrative experience”.
Don’t Nod revealed one of many projects currently in development. Harmony: The Fall of Reverie will debut in June en PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
The French developer presents the game as a “unique narrative experience”. In harmony We will embody Polly, a girl gifted with clairvoyance and in search of his missing mother. The heroine will have to use her gift to restore the balance between the worlds of humans and gods. In the process, he will attack a powerful corporation.
Polly’s gift will come in the form of a board with paths connected by decisions the heroine will make during the game. Some will be inaccessible until we unlock them using special crystals. These will be acquired through interactions with the Aspirations, characters who symbolize the aspirations of humanity, such as Glory, Truth and Chaos, whom we will encounter in our sleep as Harmony, the embodiment divine from Polly.
Aspirations will be important insofar as relationships with these gods will influence the shape of the real world. Each of them has their own goals, personality, and views on how the fate of humanity should unfold. It will only be up to Polly (and the player) whose opinion will prevail.
In practice, this means that the story of Harmony: The Fall of Reverie can unfold in multiple ways, which will encourage multiple playthroughs. The whole thing will be completed by two-dimensional visuals and music composed by Lena Raine (Celeste, Minecraft, Deltarune: Chapter 2).
