Astral Chain is not perfect. Its platform phases are annoying and the few investigations that punctuate the adventure at regular intervals are worth more for the moments of calm they create than for the challenge they oppose to the player. But its rhythm, its progression and especially its hypnotizing combat phases, allied to a surprising richness of gameplay, seduced us. So much so that we did not see the twenty hours or so that we spent on it. Both original and ambitious, the new title from PlatinumGames should appeal to all beat’em all lovers, and especially those who impatiently await Bayonetta 3.
