In the later chapters of Hunter x Hunter manga, we saw the story of the founding of the Gen’ei Ryodan or the Spider, the most popular criminal group in this anime and manga. One of the members of the Spider is Shizuku, who was brought to life by Nina Merigold this week thanks to an excellent cosplay with which she paid homage to Hunter x Hunter.
The female characters in Hunter x Hunter are very popular but Togashi’s style isn’t very provocative, so cosplayers usually do a little fan service and come up with alternatives of said characters. This is not the case with Nina Merigold’s Shizuku cosplay, since she did it by imitating an illustration of the character that can be seen in the same publication of her cosplay.
Nina Merigold started posting pictures of her cosplay on social media just over a year and a half ago, transforming into more than a dozen different characters since then. Among Nina’s first cosplays was one of Hunter x Hunter’s Hisoka, but it didn’t take long for her to transform into Gen’ei Ryodan’s Shizuku.
The first time we saw Nina Merigold cosplay Ghost Brigade’s Shizuku was in April of last year, when she said she had fancied doing another Hunter x Hunter cosplay. When it was announced that Hunter x Hunter would be back last year, Nina posted another photo of Shizuku, but since then she hadn’t posted any photos as a character until a few days ago. .
It was this Thursday, February 23, that Nina Merigold released her Hunter x Hunter Shizuku Cosplay Remake, which she liked much more than the version she showed off last year.
