Today, Kakao Games and XLGAMES hosted an online preview of their upcoming PC+mobile MMORPG, ArcheAge War. The title is scheduled for release on March 21, 2023 in South Korea, character name reservations for the first 7 servers filled in 2 hours, and the game already has more than 16 servers before its release.

Basically, ArcheAge War is set in a time when the ArcheAge continent was not yet divided into East and West. The team began by pitching ArcheAge War as a game that “raised the bar to perfection” based on the deep worldview and character set-up of the original ArcheAge.

About the combat, they say ArcheAge War has also improved as an MMORPG and is “PVP oriented”. Attack speed has been improved for all characters and is noticeable when characters hit enemies.

The title focused on optimizing the game to allow “hundreds of users” to comfortably enjoy uninterrupted open-world battles and adventures, regardless of device, in an environment of crossplay for pc and mobile.

A novelty is that players will be able to ally with a hostile race in the original ArcheAge, and the missions will lead us to defeat the enemies of said race. Each of the 5 playable races has access to a variety of weapons, including one-handed swords, two-handed swords, daggers, bows, and staves. Players create unique styles based on passive and active abilities, including chain abilities that can be attached to party members or even abilities assigned to vehicles.

After launch, large-scale war content will be added quickly, such as siege to determine the strongest player on the server, kingdom dungeon, and kingdom siege.

ArcheAge War’s naval combat not only focuses on attacking enemies with torpedoes, which are directional projectiles, but also playing to hit the torpedoes. Other gameplay elements include escaping from a crisis situation with a movement speed boost technique or chasing down enemies with various abilities. There are events, bootybosses and features that can only be found in naval contentwhich XLGAMES intends to expand upon release.

There is a game mode where players team up to defeat boss monsters that appear at a certain time. After the fight, players must move the artifacts from the corpse. Players will need to protect these carriers from attacks and theft of their artifacts.

Another novelty is the dismemberment of enemies when they receive fatal blows.

ArcheAge War will be linked to the KakaoTalk chat app, which not only lets you play remotely, but also get notifications about character statuses and check item prices (we think they’re talking about home auction).

There is no information on an overseas release.
