NBA All-Star Weekend 2023 will take place in Utah from February 17-19, but NBA 2K23 is getting the party started a little earlier. The All-Star event is now live on MyTeam and comes with a big reward at the end. Those who complete various challenges over the next two weeks can complete a collection and get a Galaxy 98 OVR opal from Russell Westbrook as a reward. So what do you need to do to get Russ? We will see.

How to get 98 OVR Russell Westbrook

Similar to the Lunar New Year and Out of Orbit events, MyTeam players will need to collect 15 separate items to get 98 OVR Galaxy Opal Russell Westbrook.

The first 10 are Takeover player items. From February 10 to 23, 2K will release 10 new Takeover maps. Each will be needed for the collection of 98 OVR Westbrook. The first five Takeover cards were released on February 10.

Here is an overview of the players that will be needed for this collection:

  • 96 GLB Spencer Dinwiddie: Win 30 Triple Threat Offline games or 15 Triple Threat Online games
  • 96 OVR André Drummond: Complete takeover challenges
  • 96GLB Joe Harris: Win 30 Clutch Time games offline or 15 Clutch Time games online
  • 96 GLB Karl Malone: Win 15 games of domination or eight games unlimited
  • 96 GLB Quentin Richardson: Win 10 matches in triple threat co-op or chain ten consecutive victories
  • 96 GLB Obi Toppin: Take the Takeover Challenge
  • 94 OVR Daequan Cook: Take the Takeover Challenge
  • 93 GLB Michael Jordan: Use locker code

Please note that for this event there are Takeover Cards which can be obtained by winning games online or offline. Others, like the aforementioned Drummond, can be obtained through Takeover Challenges or through Locker Codes.

The other five are All-Star event cards. These event cards can be obtained through diaries.

How to get event cards and agendas

Similar to the Out of Orbit event, there are skill challenges that can be completed to obtain event cards. Here is an overview of the skills challenges:

  • All-Star Skills Challenge 1 (rewards are 1,000 XP and an All-Star event card) – Pro difficulty, Triple Threat game (21 win)
  • All-Star Skills Challenge 2 (rewards are 1,000 XP and an All-Star event card) – All-Star difficulty, do 15 triples as a team
  • All-Star Skills Challenge 3 (Rewards are 1,000 XP and an All-Star event card) – All-Star difficulty, get 20 team assists

And there are also Spotlight challenges. Here is an overview of those that need to be completed:

  • Win the Out of Orbit Sapphire Challenge (the reward is 250 XP)
  • Win the Out of Orbit Ruby Challenge (the reward is 500 XP)
  • Win the Amethyst Out of Orbit challenge (the reward is 750 XP)
  • Win the Out of Orbit Diamond Challenge (the reward is 1500 XP)
  • Win the All-Star Triple Threat Challenge (the reward is 1500 XP)

Complete all All-Star Spotlight Challenges and users will receive an All-Star Event Card.

More event cards are expected to be released over the next two weeks.

There are also a number of Season 4-specific All-Star reward programs that can be used to earn XP. Here’s a look at who won the Takeover rewards from this event:

  • Get six assists in a game with Takeover Spencer Dinwiddie three times (reward is 7500 XP)
  • Make five 3-pointers in one game with Takeover Joe Harris three times (the reward is 7500 XP)
  • Grab five rebounds in a game with Takeover Karl Malone three times (reward is 7500 XP)
  • Score 20 points in a game with Takeover Quentin Richardson three times (reward is 7500 XP)

The aforementioned Season 4 Diaries, as well as Week 1 Event Cards, will expire on February 24. Week 2 maps will expire several days after the 24th. New maps will be added until February 23.
