I had already had the pleasure of testing one of MSI’s Raider GE laptops (I had already given my opinion on the model some time ago). GE77 HX). PC and laptop makers are starting to lean more toward the RTX 40 series and Intel’s 13th-gen components, so there’s no better way to end this latest era of technology than by glancing at another titan: the MSI Raider GE67 HX.

For starters, this laptop isn’t too different from the GE77 HX model. In fact, only significant changes are noticeable on the screen, although they are quite minor: the main feature that distinguishes the two computers is that the GE77 HX has a 17-inch screen, while the GE67 HX has a 15.6 inches. Both are QHD and OLED, with a 0.2ms response time, 240Hz screen refresh rate and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Both are bright, crisp, responsive, and overall great for anything you need. That said, it is true that with the GE67 HX you will need to make some adjustments to brightness, saturation, etc. when you take the laptop out of the box because True Color technology and HDR conflict and blur the image. and not very detailed. It can be annoying, but it’s easy to fix with a little setup.

When playing video games, the laptop normally turns off these systems to ensure optimal performance and allows you to turn them on manually when needed. Dynamic graphics and smooth FPS are the most important things when it comes to gaming, and the GE67 HX is no slouch. The combination of a 12th Gen i9-12900HX CPU, RTX 3080 Ti GPU and 32GB of RAM lets you play the latest games at the highest possible graphics settings and always have smooth FPS, or choose higher graphics settings for even better performance. .

Apex Legends

Death Loop:

Marvel’s Spiderman:

Evil Genius 2: World Domination

Planet Coaster:

  • Minimum: 175FPS

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

  • Ultra: 82 FPS
  • Minimum: 97FPS

The performances are very good in general, but it must be emphasized that GE67 HX Laptop Gets Very Hot, so the fan makes a lot of noise while gaming and the battery tends to drain in an attempt to keep things cool. The 99.9Wh battery will do its best to ensure the laptop is always charged enough for gaming, but having a power outlet nearby is recommended.

MSI Raider GE67 HX

In my review of the GE77 HX, I noted that it’s not exactly low profile, as it has a huge RBG light strip on the front, as well as all sorts of slots and gaming vents adorning the exterior. I think the 15.6-inch model is better suited for this design, as it has a smaller and therefore less eye-catching body. Despite its small size, it has many ports and connectivity options (be it USB, micro-USB, 3.5mm audio input, SD slot, HDMI, Thunderbolt and even an Ethernet port) and allows it to be used the laptop for a wide variety of functions. When the GE67 HX isn’t performing at its limits and fan noise is quieter, the built-in speakers on either side of the computer deliver immersive, high-quality sound.

Something that leaves a lot to be desired is the Wi-Fi connection: the computer doesn’t provide a stable connection, so it’s a problem when trying out multiplayer games like Apex Legends or Deathloop. There is no doubt that the Ethernet port is very necessary.
Overall, the Raider GE67 HX can be considered a capable and powerful computer, adding to MSI’s track record. It is not perfect and it has its faults, but it is more than enough to enjoy today’s video games and it will allow you to play the most demanding games on the market without any problem. In my opinion it is only marginally better than the GE77 HX. Both are good, but I think this particular design and style is better suited to a smaller device, because in this one all the elements seem to fit together and blend together in a more natural way.
