For nearly two years, there has been a steady stream of rumors and speculation about NetherRealm Studios’ next title. Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019, and so far the developers have alternated between Mortal Kombat and the Injustice series every year. This means that in 2023 we should have Injustice 3, but there have also been other rumors of something Marvel-related.
Until now, NetherRealm Studios has been keeping the project it’s been working on a secret and has been teasing fans for quite some time. A few hours ago, we finally received the response many of us have been waiting for, albeit in the most unceremonial way.

And it is that during the last quarterly economic report of Warner Bros. Discovery, it was revealed without fanfare or notoriety that Mortal Kombat 12 will arrive this year (although given the situation, they were probably referring to the fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2024).
Now that the secret is out, hopefully we’ll get a bit more colorful announcement and first look very soon.
