Gala Games seems to be running full steam ahead as they release regular updates for their released games and open playtests for many of their other games in development. This month alone we have playtests for Walking Dead Empires, Eternal Paradox, Legends Reborn, Grit, and Last Expedition!

We’ve already talked about testing The Walking Dead: Empires’ upcoming winter demo, so we won’t discuss that in more detail here. And that’s because there are plenty of other playtests to come!

eternal paradox

The Eternal Paradox playtest started earlier this week on March 14. It lasts a total of two weeks and is open to anyone with a Gala Games account. Unfortunately, this playtest is mobile-only, but versions are available for Android and iPhone users.

As a bonus, Eternal Paradox plans to reward players in four different challenges. To participate, players will need to link their Gala Wallet in-game. Then, at some point after the playtest ends, the top three players from Combat Power, Challenge Mode, Destroy the Shakraam Legions, and Outlaw Hunting will earn gems, the in-game currency. First place in each category wins $500 in gems, second place $400, and third place $300.

legends reborn

The Legends Reborn playtest begins today (March 16), at 11 a.m. PST. (UPDATE: Test playback is delayed. Keep an eye on your Discord announcement channel for new status reports.) We haven’t received a completion date, but their previous testing has been going on for two weeks, so we can probably expect the same here. .

Legends Reborn is a TCG-style game, but with limited creatures. Each creature played on the board adds effect and spell cards to the player’s deck which they can then use in subsequent turns.

Legends Reborn is building two games, a standard non-web3 version that is releasing on Steam and a web3 game that we hope to see with NFTs and the ability for players to monetize their playtime.

last expedition

The latest Expedition will launch in Early Access as it distributes Node licenses to everyone who owns a Node package on Monday, March 20. Pack owners will also receive a Steam Early Access code that will allow them to try out the latest development build.

Last Expedition is a team-based mining game where each team competes to be the first to mine three shards while battling hostile monsters and other players. Last Expedition relies on node operators running and hosting games, so it makes sense to let them take a first look at the game and test the hosting features. Check out his recent YouTube video for a gameplay preview.
